Request Quotes from Construction Chemicals Suppliers

A supplier quote request sends one product specification to independent suppliers, so every offer answers the same document. It carries seven fields: product class, standard and class with edition, declaration of performance or ETA, VOC jurisdiction, quantity and packaging, delivery country and a former product name.

The specification covers repair mortars, sealants, tile adhesives, anchoring adhesives and the other products in the range of construction chemicals. SCAQMD Rule 1168 caps all other architectural sealants at 50 g/L (0.42 lb/gal), while EPA AIM sets no federal VOC limit for sealants.

Standards, codes and regulations are checked against their issuing bodies, product values against the named data sheet and prices against the dated source named in the sentence; see our methodology and fact-checking.

Supplier quote request

Specification

For example EN 1504-3:2005 class R4 or ASTM C920-18(2024) Class 50.
Document wanted (optional)
The place of application, such as the South Coast air district (California).
In kg or L (lb or US gal).
For example 25 kg bag, 600 mL sausage, 20 L pail.
For older specifications that name a product.

Requests go to independent applicators and suppliers. No company pays for placement; see our editorial policy.

What Does a Supplier Quote Request Send?#

The request sends seven fields: product class, standard and class, declaration of performance or ETA, VOC jurisdiction, quantity and packaging, delivery country and any former product name. Each field removes one guess from the offer.

  • Product class: the type of product, such as repair mortar, sealant or tile adhesive.
  • Standard and class, with edition: for example EN 1504-3:2005 class R4.
  • Document wanted: a declaration of performance, an ETA, an ICC-ES report, a data sheet or an SDS.
  • VOC jurisdiction: the place of application, such as the South Coast air district.
  • Quantity and pack size: in kg or L (lb or US gal).
  • Delivery country: where the pallets arrive.
  • Former product name: optional, for older specifications.

Which Standard and Class Should the Specification Name?#

A quote is comparable only when the specification names the standard with its edition and the class, for example EN 1504-3:2005 class R4 or ASTM C920-18(2024) Class 50. A class R4 repair mortar requires a compressive strength of at least 45 MPa (6,527 psi) and a bond strength of at least 2.0 MPa (290 psi), while ASTM C920-18(2024) names movement classes 100/50, 50, 35, 25 and 12.5.

The table below compares the standard on the declaration of performance with the edition current at CEN and the US document for the same product class.

Product class Standard on the DoP Current CEN edition US document
Concrete repair mortars EN 1504-3:2005 EN 1504-3:2005 ASTM C928/C928M-25
Structural bonding and injection resins EN 1504-5:2004 EN 1504-5:2004 ASTM C881/C881M-20a
Tile adhesives EN 12004:2007+A1:2012 EN 12004-1:2017 (not harmonised) ANSI A118.4-2023
Tile waterproofing membranes EN 14891:2012 EN 14891:2017 (not harmonised) ANSI A118.10-2023
Sealants EN 15651-1 to -4:2012 EN 15651-1 to -4:2017 (not harmonised) ASTM C920-18(2024)
chemical anchors and anchoring adhesives ETA against EAD 330499 EAD, not a CEN standard ICC-ES AC308 (24), with ACI 355.4

Only EN 1504-2:2004, -3:2005, -4:2004, -5:2004, -6:2006 and -7:2006 are harmonised, and parts 1, 8, 9 and 10 are not, according to the European Commission summary list of 2026-02-09. A specification asks for the harmonised part; the series is described under EN 1504 products and systems.

Which Declaration or Approval Should Suppliers Return?#

In the EU a supplier answers with a declaration of performance under the Construction Products Regulation, and for bonded anchors with a European Technical Assessment against EAD 330499. The specification names the edition the declaration must cite.

Regulation (EU) 2024/3110 entered into force on 2025-01-07 and applies from 2026-01-08. Standards cited under Regulation (EU) 305/2011 stay valid until their product family moves under a 2024/3110 implementing act.

In the US, post-installed adhesive anchors are assessed under ICC-ES AC308 (24), published April 2025, together with ACI 355.4. The dates and the declaration content are set out under the EU Construction Products Regulation.

Why Does the Request Ask for the VOC Jurisdiction?#

VOC limits depend on where the product is applied: SCAQMD Rule 1168 (amended 2022-11-04) caps all other architectural sealants at 50 g/L (0.42 lb/gal), while EPA AIM sets no federal limit for sealants or adhesives. The same product category can face a limit of 50 g/L in one place and 400 g/L in another.

The table below compares South Coast limits with the federal EPA AIM values for the categories the request names.

Jurisdiction Rule (amended) Category g/L (lb/gal)
SCAQMD Rule 1168 (2022-11-04) All other architectural sealants 50 (0.42)
SCAQMD Rule 1168 (2022-11-04) Tile adhesive 65 (0.54)
SCAQMD Rule 1168 (2022-11-04) Grout 65 (0.54)
SCAQMD Rule 1113 (2016-02-05) Floor coatings 50 (0.42)
SCAQMD Rule 1113 (2016-02-05) Waterproofing concrete and masonry sealers 100 (0.83)
EPA AIM 40 CFR 59 subpart D Table 1 (made on or after 1999-09-13) Floor coatings 400 (3.34)
EPA AIM 40 CFR 59 subpart D Table 1 (made on or after 1999-09-13) Waterproofing sealers 600 (5.01)
EPA AIM 40 CFR 59 Adhesives and sealants No federal limit

A supplier can then quote a compliant formulation for the jurisdiction in the request, and the full rule set is listed under VOC limits for construction chemicals.

Which Quantity, Packaging and Product-Name Details Help a Quote?#

Suppliers quote per pack size and delivery country, and a former product name lets them match an older specification. Quantity in kg or L (lb or US gal) with the pack size lets the offer state a price per unit.

Legacy product names persist in specifications after rebrands, so the optional field accepts the name written in the original document.

What Happens After You Send the Supplier Request?#

The specification goes to independent suppliers, and no company pays for placement.

Form submissions are kept for 24 months; the details are in the privacy policy.

Where Does the Supplier Quote Request Fit Among the Tools?#

The supplier quote request is one of the free construction-chemical tools, beside the free applicator match for applied work.

Suppliers are described under construction chemicals manufacturers and suppliers, and the other tools are listed under calculators and quote tools for construction chemicals.

Can a Specification Ask for Two Standards at Once?#

Yes: name both with editions, for example EN 1504-3:2005 and ASTM C928/C928M-25. The supplier then states which one the product declares.

Can the Same Specification Go to Applicators?#

Yes: applied work goes through the free applicator match.

Describe the system, structure, area and location in the free applicator match instead.
